A bit of stress is good. It keeps us motivated and moving. It gives us the necessary boost and allows us to get creative in working. However, there is such a thing as too much stress. This is undoubtedly a bad case of stress as it already alters some of the body's most important functions. It messes with the sleeping pattern; it shoots up the appetite; and it weakens the immune system. When stress becomes too much, the body releases all sorts of chemicals that are harmful and can lead to a variety of health issues like tumours and auto-immune diseases.

If you want to eliminate stress, you have to find ways to release the pent-up tension or somehow relax. Here are some tips to help one cope with stress:

Get moving: Exercise not only helps you get fit. It can also reduce stress by making your body focus more on the physical and less on the mental. As you sweat it out, you release all those harmful toxins and at the same time boost your immune system.

Go to the spa: The spa can be a haven in times of stress. There, the ambience is rightfully set and controlled to be pleasing to the senses. The aroma of the essential oils can help revitalize not only your body but your psyche as well.

Get a massage: A massage is a tactile activity that is proven to ease out tension and soothe tired muscles. It also helps improve your blood circulation and relax your body.

Load on fresh produce: Part of the stress we experience is even more magnified by the habit of eating plenty of junk food. When you are high on the salt, fat, and sugar, your body becomes bloated and has a tendency to retain the fluid. This makes you feel heavy and tired. It also is the surest way to wane your energy. To beat the stress, eat colourful fresh foods like broccoli, carrots, blue berries, raspberries, and mangoes. The colour translates to nutrients that your body needs to heal itself.

Go for a walk: Walking unwinds our mind and helps us to process our thoughts. It also is a great way to breathe in the fresh air as you tend to consume more oxygen as you increase your number of steps. Walking keeps you young and more focused on the good side.Listen to water music. The sound of flowing and cascading water is very therapeutic. It helps release all those negative thoughts and gives your head the chance to relax and get less focused on stressful ideas.

Drink tea: Tea is a better alternative to coffee in keeping you awake. Despite of this, it relaxes and calms the mind. For a truly relaxing blend, choose chamomile or jasmine tea. Inhale the wonderful aroma as you sip to calm the nerves.

Finding and doing things to help you get rid of the stress can benefit you in many ways.

Remember, stress is something that you cannot eliminate but one that you can manage. Beat the stress now for a healthier you.
